THE NATURA 2000 NETWORK

Natura 2000 Network is an ecological network addressing the conservation of the biodiversity in the European Union and, in particular, of the animal and plant species and of habitats included in the Habitats Directive (Annex I and II) and of the bird species listed in the Birds Directive (annex I). 
The Natura 2000 Network consists of the Sites of Community Importance (SCI) and of the Special Protection Areas (SPA) for bird species all over Europe.
