The first monitoring equipment was installed at one of the 45 underpasses to be monitored along highway A29 (Egnatia Highway) in Greece. This is part of an innovative end-to-end solution/prototype, developed by the Greek partner COSMOTE, that allows the automated capturing of the movements of wildlife that uses the underpasses to cross the bear-proof fenced highway and the depiction in a graphical environment for further analysis. The information will be used to identify the crossing structures to be re-adapted in order to render it more attractive to bears.
